MA 525 - Agency Petitioning and Advocacy Elective This immersive course introduces the principles of administrative law and the federal rulemaking process under the APA. The one-credit online portion of the course covers the foundational stages of rulemaking, judicial review, and public participation. The weekend workshop portion of the course, Advocacy in Action, offers students hands-on experience in drafting petitions, crafting public comments, and presenting in simulated hearings. Through role-playing and collaborative activities, students will develop skills in stakeholder engagement, policy advocacy, and regulatory analysis, preparing them for impactful careers in public policy and legal advocacy. Students will be required to complete substantive readings in the week before class. Students may sign-up for either the online portion and the workshop, or only the workshop portion if they have taken Administration Law. Units: 2 Grading: Letter graded
