MA 523 - Cyber Threats: Legal Preparation and Response

In this immersive weekend course, students will engage in a realistic simulation of a cybersecurity breach and develop incident response plans while assessing legal and business risks for their assigned business or government entity. Each participant will roleplay a position within their organization’s crisis management team, enhancing their understanding of regulatory compliance and the tort implications of a cybersecurity breach. Through a dynamic scenario and comprehensive debrief, students will gain skills in navigating the complexities of cybersecurity law in today’s digital landscape. Students will be required to complete substantive readings in the week before class.
