MLS 549 - Negotiation


This course surveys the role of negotiation in the legal environment. Students will examine the principles, strategies, and tactics used to resolve disputes through negotiation. They will gain understanding of techniques used to assess stakeholder values, persuade others, deal with resistance, and manage conflict. Other topics will include ethical principles governing negotiation strategies, principles of collaborative negotiation, and effective negotiation planning. (2 units)
