MLS 450 - Legal ResearchIn this course, students will learn the basics of how to perform legal research to identify and understand federal and state laws. Coverage will include major primary sources of federal and state law (statutes, cases and regulations) and key secondary sources that explain those laws (encyclopedias,digests, practice guides, etc.), in both print and online sources (including government websites and online databases such as Westlaw.) Each student will create a legal research pathfinder identifying key research sources in his or her area of professional interest. (2 units) Credits: 2 |
